Security Grants for Places of Worship and Religious Institutions

Places of worship don’t need to pay for security out of pocket; religious institutions can gain financial support to protect themselves via combined federal and local means — including security grants for synagogues, churches, and mosques.

At a national level, FEMA offers “provides funding support for target hardening and other physical security enhancements and activities to nonprofit organizations that are at high risk of terrorist attack” via their Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP).
