Yesterday, we discussed the first part of the warranties provided by 3M for their Safety and Security Window Films series. This is in a bid to give a detailed breakdown and analysis of what to expect when you purchase the Safety and Security Window Films for your building.
You should note that these warranties apply only when a 3M authorized installer installs your 3M Safety and Security Window Films.
Under those circumstances, if anyone notices a fault or discrepancy with the window films or the installation, the warranties spring into action. The warranties do not cover DIY window film installation.
If the installer uses the 3M Impact Protection System Adhesive or Profile during installation, the Safety and Security window film carries a 10-year warranty from the date of installation.
Note: This does not cover failure which results from disintegration of the underlying substrate, movement of the structure exceeding specification for elongation and/or compression, or changes in appearance of the adhesive due to dirt or other contaminates.
If the window film is found to be defective under the warranty, the Seller (who is 3M of its authorized dealer) will replace the quantity of film that has proved to be defective and provide removal and reapplication labor FREE OF CHARGE.
This warranty is only provided to the original purchaser and is not transferable.
